NUSSC Hockey vs. Top Guns

The new season began with a 9am start...again...and with our girls dropping like flies before the game I was starting to worry about numbers, especially when Phoebe Lewis turned up an announced she was actually playing for the other team. Devastated. In the end though, the opposition were short as well so we agreed to a 10 a side game.

NUSSC 18 - Larrikins 4

Well guys, after 4 years of coming oh so close, we FINALLY did it, NUSSC Netball are Tuesday League Champions!!

After another unbeaten season I awoke this morning with a sick feeling that we were going to have a repeat of last year when we lost in the final by 1 goal......

However, with a very good team turning out we were quietly confident that, this year, the trophy would be ours.

I think we should have an inter-nussc competiton for the most hungover/still drunk at the top of the races....(vomiting in the finish area definately counts!!)

Winner for last year is definately simon crisp who didnt even make it down course inspection...went straight back to bed!personally i admire commitment to drinking such as that.

Im getting excited!cocks already out there and sunburnt after 2 days...if theres only slush at least ...

NUSSC Netball.

Overall position - 5th.

Unlike our usual form we actually LOST our first 2 matches! However, once one of the Northumbria team asked us what Intra-mural was we got a little suspicious. Then we realised that many of their players had been in the Stan Calvert match this year and became aware that we were actually playing a combination of the Northumbria first and second teams, making our 13-2 loss not too bad really!

Our second match was against Van Mildert from Durham ...

I have no idea about snowboards at all but a friend has asked me to see if anyone wants to buy there board, boots etc as they are moving abroad and have no use any more.

NUSSC racers vs. ESF

Last week in Val Thorens, a select team of NUSSC racers took on the might of the VT ESF 5-a-side team, captained by our instructor Laurent (who bore an uncanny resemblance to Frank Lampard). More worrying still, playing 90 minutes of 5-a-side at an altitude of over 2000m meant that fitness would be crucial, unfortunately not a particularly strong point for our team.

After a good opening few minutes, with a few goals from either side, the ESF were only 5-3 up, but the fitness (or lack of, ...

I have booked the astro at Longbenton for hockey training on Fridays from 4.00 until 5.00, starting this week. I know this is not ideal and some people will have lectures, but it was either that or 9.00 until 10.00 at night, which I'm sure you could all make, but wouldn't really be all that keen about?

Longbenton astro is where we also play all the matches - there is a map here. The easiest way is by metro, to Four Lane Ends. Go left out of the main entrance of the station, turn left ...

Burton freestyle snowboard boots going cheap

I've got a pair of brand new (in the box) burton freestyle snowboard boots in UK size 10.

These are a great entry level boot and sure beat the rental ones and all I want for them is �50.

Just for comparison LD mountain centre is selling these for �78 and thats their sale price!

Bit random but I've just retrieved several pairs of skis from home.......deciding whether to keep some of them but one pair definitely for sale are my last pair....Atomic beta race 10.20, in decent condition, 170cm, good for using when the snow isn't as good as we would hope! They are orange though! Perfect for someone who wants their own skis but doesnt want to spend loads of money!

We now have 6 pairs of impact shorts (various sizes) for any of the snowboarders and freestylers to borrow at events and training etc. Even better, we have a Forum Youngblood (flexi twin tip) freestyle snowboard and bindings for any and all snowboarders to have a shot on (not for use on dryslope as it will get fucked quickly) courtesy of www.boardwise.com. Amazing!!!
